Kondito.
Rental management SaaS for car rental and equipment hire companies.
Dpixel designed and built Kondito from scratch: a multi-tenant SaaS on monthly subscription that took rental companies from Excel, paper and scattered phone photos to bookings, guided photo inspections, online payments and automatic invoicing — live in production within days of the first commit.

Excel, paper
& phone photos.
Double bookings
The same car or machine promised to two customers for the same dates.
Disputed damage
Hand-over and return photos shot from different angles, with no reliable timestamp — impossible to compare.
Lost time
Every rental meant forms, manual price maths and documents copied by hand.
The product brief: a new rental in under 3 minutes on a phone, photo evidence that holds up in a dispute, and strict isolation between the companies on the platform.
Guided photo
inspection.
- 01
The phone camera overlays the outline of the vehicle or machine type and the angle required.
- 02
On return, the hand-over photo appears faded over the outline — every pair is comparable, angle by angle.
- 03
Main photos are taken live in the app only, never from the gallery, and stamped with server time, user, location and a SHA-256 fingerprint. A pile of photos becomes evidence.
What Dpixel built.
Fleet
Vehicles, machines and attachments with km or hour meters, statuses, gallery, defect log, CSV import/export.
Pricing
Day, week and month rates, included units, overage cost, deposit — frozen on every rental.
Rentals
Booking → hand-over → contract → active → extension → return → close, with the final bill calculated automatically.
Calendar
Availability over 7, 14 or 30 days; click a free day to book.
Photo inspection
Outline camera for 16 types, from sedan to excavator and boom lift; extra shots pinned on the silhouette.
PDF documents
Rental sheet and hand-over/return photo report, generated in a queue, shared via signed expiring links.
AI reading
Fills the form from a photo of an ID, licence or registration; proposes the meter from a dashboard photo. The user always confirms.
Field app
Installable PWA with the day’s hand-overs and returns; a QR code on desktop opens the inspection on the phone.
Subscriptions
Plans by active fleet size, free trial, card payments via Stripe, fiscal invoices issued automatically via Oblio and sent to SPV.
Platform admin
Super-admin panel with companies, plans, usage stats, payments and alerts.
Marketing site
Product tour, fleet-size price calculator, self-service sign-up, help centre, consent-based analytics.
// whole interface in Romanian and English from day one
Built to last.
Multi-tenancy in one database
Automatic per-company scoping on every tenant table, cross-tenant write protection and per-model policies — with dedicated tests proving no company can read another’s data, not via guessed IDs, not via file links.
Zero overlaps, enforced by the database
Bookings run in a transaction that locks the product row, not just a UI check — plus a concurrency test that fires simultaneous bookings at MySQL.
One pricing engine
Unit-tested on the edge cases; money stored as integers in minor units, so no rounding errors.
Outline camera in the browser
getUserMedia, tested on iOS Safari and Android Chrome. SVG outlines generated from code; photos compressed on the phone and re-sent automatically when signal drops.
Private files
No photo or document has a public URL — access goes through authorised routes or signed expiring links on S3-compatible storage.
GDPR by design
Audit log, per-company photo retention with automatic clean-up, data export and deletion on request, rate limiting on login and uploads.
Spec first.
Ten stages.
A product spec and data model written before the first line of code, a decision log updated on every change, and ten stages — each closed with tests, manual review and a report.
After the MVP came the marketing site, self-service sign-up, Stripe subscriptions, Oblio invoicing, onboarding and the help centre. Every release goes through staging first; no commit lands without passing tests and code-format checks.
